Bingo Volunteers Needed for Wednesdays!

Bingo provides space and opportunities for members of the shul and greater Kingston community to share an evening of fun, affordable food, and of course Bingo! 

All positions (except caller) can be learned in 5 -10 minutes. Looking for people to come once a month or as often as is feasible. We can also use baked goods for sale in the kitchen!

Multiple positions available:

  • 4 Positions selling bingo cards 
    • 2 people needed for the first shift: 5:30 -7pm
    • 2 people needed for the full shift: 5:30-8:30pm
  • Bell jar: 5-8:30pm
  • Runner: 7-10pm
  • Caller: 5:30pm set up; 7-10pm.
  • Kitchen setup from:
    • Setup: 3:30pm
    • Early shift 4:30-7pm
    • Late 7-8:45pm

Religious School Needs Help!

On the last day of Religious School, we celebrate with our Teacher Appreciation Shabbat with festive oneg and invite students, teachers, parents and anyone else looking to celebrate our school and teachers. 
Food donations:
We are looking for donations of savory or sweet dishes. Please contact Samara to let her know you will be bringing a dish and what you will be bringing so we can ensure a variety. Regular and gluten-free dishes are welcome. Dairy or vegetarian, please.

Dishes should be dropped off Friday, 5/17 or Saturday morning before 10 am. If you would like to make a dish and cannot bring it to the temple, please contact Samara to arrange pick up.

We will be setting up the food and tables from 11-12. We can always use an extra set of hands!

Congregation Emanuel/Ulster Immigrant Defense Network Liason Wanted!

Congregation Emanuel of the Hudson Valley/Ulster Immigrant Defense Network (UIDN) is seeking a co-volunteer to serve as the CEHV- UIDN liaison. You would join Lisette Landin (who has volunteered) in:

  • Attending bimonthly (6x/year) meetings of 20 faith-based Ulster Immigrant Defense Network affiliates to receive:
    • Updates on Ulster immigrants’ needs
    • Government policy developments
    • UIDN current activities
    • Brainstorming future projects to meet ongoing and new needs

Helping engage CEHV members in the effort!

The first UIDN faith-based affiliates meeting will most likely be held on the last Wednesday in May; the date may change based on response.
