This Friday, December 7th, promises to an evening of fun in celebration of Chanukah for folks of all ages. The Committee for Spiritual Practices have organized an evening of Storytelling, singing and candle lighting following an abbreviated evening service, which begins at 6pm.

Returning to Congregation Emanuel are Dr. Jeri Burns and Barry Marshall, who perform together as The Storycrafters. They have been performing and teaching their art form in schools, libraries in the Hudson Valley and throughout the United States and internationally in the Caribbean and British Isles since 1991. The duo will be telling traditional Chanukah stories while also integrating musical instruments, songs and dances.

The evening will also include community candle lighting and everyone is encouraged to bring a Menorah to services or share one of the synagogues.

Following the program, refreshments including Soufganiyot (jelly donuts) will be served. Please invite your extended families and neighbors to this joyous event.
