Caring Community

The Caring Community of Congregational Emanuel sustains members in times of joy, need, and sorrow. With compassion, respect, and confidentiality, the committee works to transform our Emanuel family into a more cohesive and caring community committed to fulfilling God’s Mitzvot.

Be sure to view our Food Guidelines for providing food for a local family. Whatever your talents, we always need more help.  To learn more, contact Patricia Cohen, Hesed Caring Community Chair at (845) 338-6180.

The Shiva Minyan: How to Attend, How to Lead... attend one of our workshops, come to a meeting and read our Shivah Guidelines.  Take the mystery out of what it means to attend shiva. Learn how you can be a compassionate visitor and neighbor in your community.

Our Congregation is creating community-wide networks for people to lend support in times of need, starting with the concerns around bereavement and illness.
