A Letter from the President of the Congregation

Thank you for your interest in Congregation Emanuel of the Hudson Valley. We have a rich history of over 160 years serving the Jewish community of the Hudson River Valley. Our membership includes more than 200 families from a broad geographical area, including Kingston, Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Town of Ulster, Germantown, Ellenville, New Paltz, Woodstock and Saugerties.

Congregation Emanuel combines a commitment to Reform Jewish values with a love of tradition and learning. You will find our services lively, programs innovative, social programs welcoming and our Religious School offering a wonderful preparation for being a Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

Our Temple is committed to serving the needs of all of our congregants, young and old, at all stages of their lives in the observance and celebration of Jewish living.

In addition to Friday Night and Saturday Morning Services, we offer a wide array of classes and learning. We have a vibrant Brotherhood, Sisterhood, and Social Action Committee. Our other committees include Welcoming and Membership, Caring Community and Education. If volunteering is of interest to you, there are many opportunities to do so at Congregation Emanuel from weekly Bingo Night to helping with Temple events.

If you are looking to connect with a vibrant, diverse, involved Jewish community, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 619-587-2725.

Our Board of Trustees and myself hope you will consider joining Congregation Emanuel. I invite you to attend our weekly services and meet our Rabbi, myself and many of our congregants. I believe this will be a wonderful experience for you, as well as us.

Arnie Zepel
